Call for Applications to serve on
SOURCE PROTECTION WORKING GROUPS
Various positions are currently available on working groups to aid in drinking water source protection within the Saugeen, Grey Sauble, Northern Bruce Peninsula Source Protection Region. The working groups will provide valuable insight into issues and share expertise with the local Source Protection Committee (SPC).
Qualities of working group members:
- knowledge and interest in issues studied by working group
- weigh different points of view and work with others
- deal with technical information and discuss often complex issues
- bring forward common concerns from their sector
Details of working groups:
- minimum of four meetings per year will be held
- unpaid positions, although committee expenses will be covered
Planning Officials Working Group
Openings:
- one represenatative from building/construction industry
- one position representing general interests
Activities:
- work collaboratively with planning officials in the group to prepare background reports on: municipal planning processes; and how drinking water source protection could best be incorporated into planning
Agricultural and Rural Working Group
Openings:
- two represenatatives from rural ratepayer associations
- three positions representing rural general interests
Activities:
- assist in preparing background reports on: relationship between agricultural and rural issues and source protection measures; and best management practices near drinking water sources

Submit your Expression of Interest in writing by Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, 4:30 pm, accompanied by a resume outlining relevant experience and familiarity with water management issues.
